Who you might ask? Foles is Eagles’ QB Michael Vick’s immediate backup. Consider this a proactive strike; Vick looked downright awful in the season opener this past weekend. Blame it on rust from missing most pre-season reps with bruised ribs but he was wildly inaccurate, making bad decisions with the football, and worse (and the point of this entry) he took 11 hits. We’re not suggesting Vick will get sat down in favor of the rookie Foles but if he continues to take a beating like he did in week 1 Philadelphia won’t have much of a choice as the smart money is on him getting hurt (again).
